Privacy & cookies
How this website handles your personal information and cookies.
Last updated: 1 November 2026
1. Introduction
We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website visitors.
This policy explains how the Swan View Football Club Junior/Senior Inc website, swanviewfc.com.au, handles your personal information. We are a volunteer-run community club and the website is simple: there are no accounts or logins, no payments, no newsletter sign-up and no advertising or tracking cookies.
The website was built for the club by Intrlude, which looks after it on the club's behalf, and it is hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
Player registrations and payments are not made on this website. They are handled by PlayHQ (see Section 3).
2. How we use your personal data
The table below sets out the personal information that can reach the club through this website, where it comes from and what it is used for.
| Information | Where it comes from | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| Technical data: your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for | Your browser, each time it loads a page | Cloudflare uses it to deliver the website to you and to protect it from attacks and abuse |
| Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number and message | You, when you email or call a committee member, or use the form on our contact page | Answering your enquiry and running the club |
| Registration and payment details | You, on PlayHQ | Registering players and collecting fees. This happens on PlayHQ, not on this website |
The form on our contact page does not send anything to a server. When you tap Send message, it opens your own email app with your message filled in, addressed to [email protected]. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app, and the website does not keep a copy.
We may use or share personal information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone's safety.
Please do not send us other people's personal information unless we ask for it.
3. Providing your personal data to others
This website uses a small number of outside services:
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the website, and handles the technical data and visit statistics described in Section 2. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Our committee uses Gmail addresses, so emails you send us, including from the contact form, are stored by Google. See Google's privacy policy.
- PlayHQ runs our registrations and payments. When you tap a Register button you leave this website, and anything you enter on PlayHQ is covered by PlayHQ's privacy policy.
Intrlude manages the website and its Cloudflare account for the club, so it can see the same visit statistics the club can. It uses that access only to run the website for the club.
We may also share personal information with our insurers or professional advisers where reasonably necessary, or where the law requires it.
4. International transfers of your personal data
Cloudflare runs a worldwide network, so the technical data and visit statistics described in Section 2 may be processed outside Australia. Emails sent to our Gmail addresses, and anything you enter on PlayHQ, may also be stored outside Australia by those providers under their own privacy policies.
Information published on this website, such as committee contact details, coaches' names and the names on our honour boards, can be seen by anyone, anywhere in the world. We cannot prevent others from using (or misusing) it.
5. Retaining and deleting personal data
The website itself does not store any personal information. It has no database, accounts or sign-up forms.
Emails and messages you send the club are kept by the committee for as long as they are needed for club business. If you would like an email or your details deleted, contact us (see Section 15).
Cloudflare and PlayHQ keep their own records under their own privacy policies.
6. Security of personal data
Every page on this website is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and visits to the unencrypted http:// address are sent to the secure version.
This website has no logins or passwords, and we will never ask you for a password.
Email is not a completely secure way to send information, so please do not email us bank or card details. Fees are paid through PlayHQ.
7. Amendments
We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on this page. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes to this policy.
8. Your rights
You can ask us:
- what personal information the club holds about you;
- to correct information that is wrong or out of date; and
- to delete information we no longer need, including removing your name or details from this website.
Contact us using the details in Section 15. We may need to confirm who you are before we make changes. For registration details held in PlayHQ, you can also contact PlayHQ directly.
9. Third party websites
Our website links to other websites, including our sponsors' websites, PlayHQ, Google Maps (for directions to Brown Park), Dropbox (for printable copies of club policies) and the WA Government's KidSport page. When you follow one of these links you leave our website.
We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the privacy policies and practices of third parties. Please read their policies before giving them any personal information.
Sponsor logos, photos and fonts on this website are stored on the website itself, not loaded from sponsors, Google Fonts or other outside services, so simply viewing a page does not contact any of them.
10. Updating information
Please let us know if the personal information that we hold about you, or that appears on this website, needs to be corrected or updated.
11. About cookies and local storage
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store. The browser sends it back to the website each time you visit.
Local storage, and its short-term version session storage, let a website keep small notes in your browser. Unlike cookies, this information is not sent back to the website.
12. Cookies and local storage that we use
This website does not set any cookies of its own. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking or analytics, so there is no cookie pop-up.
We use your browser's local storage and session storage only for the "Add to home screen" card, which offers to save the club website to your phone's home screen:
- svfc-app-card-dismissed (local storage): the time you closed the card, so we do not show it again for 30 days;
- svfc-app-installed (local storage): a note that you have added the website to your home screen, so we stop offering it; and
- svfc-pages and svfc-app-card-seen (session storage): how many pages you have viewed on this visit and whether the card has already been shown, so it never appears on your first page or more than once per visit. These are cleared when you close the tab.
This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it does not identify you.
13. Cookies used by our service providers
Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website, may set a security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor is a real person rather than a bot, for example __cf_bm (removed after 30 minutes without activity) or cf_clearance (set after you pass a security check). These cookies are used only for security. Find out more about the Cloudflare cookies at https://www.cloudflare.com/cookie-policy/.
We do not run any visitor analytics on this website. If the club ever adds a visit counter, this policy will be updated to say so first.
Cloudflare also hides the email addresses on our pages from spam robots, using a small script that runs in your browser. It does not store or send anything about you.
We do not use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel or any advertising cookies.
14. Managing cookies
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies and to delete cookies and other website data. The methods vary from browser to browser, and from version to version. You can find up-to-date instructions via these links:
This website does not need cookies to work, so blocking them will not stop it working. Clearing your website data just means the "Add to home screen" card may be offered again.
15. Contact us
For privacy questions, or to ask what information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, contact the club president, Darren Rullo, at [email protected] or on 0433 100 036. Other committee contacts are on our contact page.
